Bugfest
TOMS RIVER- The Central Ocean Rotary Club presents Bugfest 2008 on Sunday June 22, 2008 at Insectropolis. The event takes place from 11 am -4 pm. Join the fun and see hundreds of live insects at Toms River’s bug museum, located at 1761 Route 9. Participants can touch a tarantula, scorpion or a hissing cockroach. Cheer on your favorite pick at the cockroach races. Try a bug scavenger hunt, or crawl through a termite tunnel. Vote for the new mayor of Insectropolis.
Other guests will include the Master Gardeners of Ocean County, Mosquito Commission of Ocean County, Herbertsville Honey Company and Cattus Island Park personnel.
Advance tickets may be purchased for $5.00, at the door they will be $7.00. Children under two are free. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Central Ocean Rotary’s Academic Scholarship program. Each year four Toms River High School students are awarded $2000 each.
