Central Ocean Rotary Club Inducts New President
The Central Ocean Rotary Club installs Rodger Koerber as president.
Toms River, NJ-- The Central Ocean Rotary Club inducted its new president in a ceremony held Tuesday evening at Basil T’s in Toms River. Rodger Koerber will take over leadership of the club from outgoing president Dr. Anthony DiFlumeri on July 1 and serve through 2009.
Michele Lardieri, Community Health Education and Outreach Division Director for Community Medical Center was awarded the Paul Harris Society medal. This recognition honored her contributions to making a difference in the club and community and in the lives of less fortunate people in the world. Paul Harris Society Foundation contributions support a wide range of humanitarian grants and educational programs.
Rodger Koerber has been a member of Central Ocean Rotary club for over seven years. Prior to that, he was a member of the Hightstown South Brunswick Rotary Club. Koerber is the president and CEO of the Ocean County YMCA. Under his stewardship, the Ocean County YMCA continues to expand its services to Ocean County residents. He is also a Board member on Ocean’s Harbor House and the Jersey Shore Boy Scouts Council, a member of the Toms River-Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, a graduate of the National YMCA Executive Development Program, a National YMCA Senior Director and Vice Chair for the New Jersey YMCA Public Policy committee.
A graduate of Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania in 1988, Rodger majored in Physical Education, with a minor in Sports Management. Rodger has vast experience in the YMCA movement and is familiar with its history, fundamental concepts and relationships with our community. He has successfully served in several YMCA’s throughout the United States in many capacities, such as Aquatic Director, Vice President of Operations and Executive Director.
Rodger currently resides in Jackson Township with his wife, Jill, and their three children, Zachery, Tyler and Morgan.
