Imagine having the ability to change to world by skipping lunch? That's exactly what Rotary District 7500 and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is hoping to do. During the week of October 19-23, Rotary clubs in Monmouth, Ocean and Burlington counties will be skipping or having a smaller lunch and donating the proceeds to the PolioPlus program. For every dollar donated by the clubs, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match two dollars. The goal is to provide polio vaccine for 50,000 kids across the world. Our club is gladly on board and will be making our donation.Instead of our normal October 20th meeting, we instead used the time to visit one of the charities we proudly support: Ocean's Harbor House. The house is a place where homeless children in Ocean County are provided safe haven. Members of our club were instrumental in helping to construct the home and we continue to provide support. The staff graciously toured our members, educated us about homelessness in Ocean County and gave us ideas of how we can continue to help them.
